Frequently Asked Questions

.......................................................................................................................

Q: Why are you changing the benefits?

A : Since January 2004 we have been conducting research with members and hotels about the programme benefits. Based on the member feedback, we have enhanced the benefits to deliver the best value to the members and most rewarding privileges.

Q: If the Member Card rates have gone, what rate am I now entitled to?

Member Card Rates are replaced with a 10% Off benefit that applies to the best available hotel rates. These rates are Corporate Flex rate, 5 Day Advance Booking rate and 14 Day Advance Purchase rate. This benefit gives you both a 10% discount on the publicly available price for these rates – representing much greater value – and the choice of a variety of rates depending on your travelling needs. In addition, some hotels also extend this 10% Off benefit to hotel packages, which should be confirmed with the hotel at the time of booking.

Q: How are these rates different to Member Card rates?

A : The Member Card rate was a fixed weekday and weekend rate, published each quarter. The new Corporate Flex rate, 5 Day Advance Booking rate and 14 Day Advance Purchase rates are all floating rates, meaning the price can change from day-to-day, in a similar way to airline tickets, so you are getting the best available rate each day. And remember, what ever the public price for these rates, you enjoy 10% Off, 7 nights per week on each room type that is available.

Q: How are the new rates different to each other?

Corporate Flex rate is an unrestricted rate that allows you to book when you like, cancel, change your dates or make other changes without penalty or up front payment. 5 Day Advance Purchase requires you to book at least 5 days before arrival and you need to pay the first night in advance, however is a more competitive rate. 14 Day Advance Purchase is the most competitive rate, but requires you to book at least 14 days before arrival and you need to pay the entire stay in advance. Both 5 Day Advance Booking and 14 Day Advance Purchase do not allow changes or cancellations and the deposit is not refundable. You can plan your travel based on your requirements by choosing the degree of flexibility that suits you, and how far in advance you can commit your travel arrangements.

Q: If the price is floating, how do I find out the cost?

A : First, select your destination and if there is more than one hotel in this destination, select a couple of hotels that would suit you. Next, call the Priority Privilege Reservations Centre in Australia on 1300 728 851, in New Zealand on 0800 424 6835 or in other regions on +61 2 9935 8432. Ask for the Priority Privilege 10% Off rates for the hotels you are interested in. Remember, you’ll get a more competitive rate if you book early and prepay your accommodation for the 14 Day Advance Purchase rate or 5 Day Advance Booking rate. In the near future, this web site will also be upgraded to allow you to book your member rates on line.

Q: How do my Priority Privilege and Priority Club Rewards benefits work together?

A : Priority Privilege is a discount programme, providing you with accommodation and dining benefits. Priority Club Rewards is an additional membership that you receive for free when you join Priority Privilege. The Priority Club Rewards programme does not give you discounts, accommodation or dining benefits. Priority Club Rewards revolves around collecting Priority Club points for qualifying stays in InterContinental Hotels Group hotels. Once you have collected enough Priority Club points, you can exchange these for Reward Night Stays, airline miles or other merchandise.
