Places of Interest


Hoan Kiem Lake
Located in the center of Ha Noi, meaning lake of the Returned Sword. Legend has it that Emperor Lê L ợ i handed back a magic sword to the Golden Turtle God. It is said that turtles still reside in the lake and over The Huc bridge is Ngoc Son Temple where you can see a preserved giant turtle. The lake is great for people watching, during a stroll round the lake at any time of the day, you can see old men smoking bamboo pipes while playing Chinese chess and drinking tea.

Quang Ba night Flower Market
Quang Ba night Flower Market is considered the terminal market where most various kind of flowers in Hanoi are sold. This market is held all the year round without any day-off. When Tet holiday is coming, visiting night flower market becomes a pleasure of many Hanoians.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
Construction work began on September 2, 1973 and the structure was formally inaugurated on August 29, 1975. The mausoleum was inspired by Lenin's Mausoleum in Moscow but incorporates distinct Vietnamese architectural elements, such as the sloping roof. The exterior is made of gray granite, while the interior is gray, black, and red polished stone.

Ho Chi Minh Museum
Located close to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum was opened on 19 May 1990, President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. Housed in a four-storey building designed in the shape of a lotus flower to reflect the President’s noble character, the 10,000 square-metre museum depicts the life and times of H ồ Chí Minh and his major contribution to the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vi ệ t Nam.

Hanoi Opera House
Hanoi Opera House is a great construction built by the French Conialist Government during the early years of the 20th century. The Construction began in 1901 and completed in 1911.

Temple of Literature
Located in the Dong Da section of Hanoi, Van Mieu, or the Temple of Literature, is the oldest school in Vietnam, giving it the distinction of being the most significant temple in both Hanoi and Vietnam. It is representative of Confucian ways of thought and behavior, and is a historical and cultural relic.

Museum of Fine Arts
Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi is located just opposite the Temple of Literature and it exhibits approximately 10.000 art works in 16 showrooms segmented according to the following division and arranged chronologically. Apart from displaying the wide range of stylish art collections, Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi exhibits several fine art pieces like ancient stone sculpture, pieces from the Bronze Age, antique pottery, ethnic minority painting and lacquer painting.

Museum of Ethnology
Being part of the National Centre of Social Sciences and Humanities, the museum is involved in a wide range of different undertakings. It collects, classifies, assesses, preserves, restores and displays artifacts relating to Vietnam’s 54 different ethnic groups, carries out scientific research on Vietnamese nationalities and trains staff in ethnographic museology.

Thang Long Water Puppet
A traditional art form with distinctive culture identity of Vietnam. It came to existence, developed and diversified over a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. Thang Long water puppetry art is famous and highly appreciated all over the world. Vietnam water puppetry has won all hearts of a large number of audiences thanks to Art Festivals, which we have attended in Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Thailand, Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong, Denmark…

Bat Trang Ceramics Village
Bat Trang, a small village in the north of Vietnam, is about 13 kilometers southeast of Hanoi center, on the other side of the Red River. The village is famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality.

Ha Dong Silk Village
Ha Dong is a traditional silk trade village that still retains lots of small silk factories and houses which make silk stuff. They also have some show rooms for tourists to come and see the different types of silk and silk worms of different colors. This is an amazing place that's good for a one day tour and it's not too far away from the centre of Hanoi, only 15 min by car or motorbike and the transportation fare is cheap and easily found.

One Pillar Pagoda
The One Pillar Pagoda (Vietnamese: Chua Mot Cot, formally Dien Huu Tu, which literally means “long lasting happiness and good luck”) is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. As you visit Hanoi, you may come to various other monuments, parks and historical places. Yet, the One-Pillar Pagoda reflects the architectural splendor that the country has grown.
